The sword was taken out of the stone by a seventeen-year old boy named Arthur. At that moment the boy was only a varlet of his named brother Kay. With this sword Arthur was blessed for fair reign, the blessing was given by Merlin himself. In the person of Arthur Britain received a wise and fair ruler.
